UK courier crisis
As customers will be aware from media coverage there is currently an acute driver shortage within the UK haulage industry and unfortunately this is having a negative impact on the operation of our third-party courier services. Due to this they have removed service guarantees from all deliveries; a standard service is typically next day but may take longer. As such we are currently unable to offer credits on courier delays. For the same reason we are currently unable to reliably offer timed deliveries and have therefore suspended these for the time being. Deliveries on our own transport are uneffected.
Flints are aware just how frustrating this is for customers and apologise for the inconvenience which we hope will be short-lived.
Raw material shortages
Customers may be aware from media coverage of global shortages of raw materials effecting all sectors of the economy.
These shortages have primarily been caused by the pandemic both directly, and indirectly through the knock-on effects to the shipping industry. Even where there is availability, prices are rising sharply as a result.
Flints have been warned by many of our suppliers of forthcoming price rises and potential interruptions to supply, and we wish to warn our customers in turn that we expect lead times and prices to increase, and advise customers to take this into account when planning for the re-opening of the theatre and live event industries in the summer.
