Formerly known as Smoothrite, this paint has been designed to do two things in one step; protect the surface, alongside decorating it. This removes the requirement of priming the metal prior to painting.
Hammerite should be applied to clean, de-greased surface by brush or spray. It can be applied to an already painted surface, provided a test has been done and no reaction occured within an hour of applying. If a reaction does occur, then all of the paint should be removed prior to application.
For spray application, you should thin 2 parts paint to 1 part thinners.
It will dry to a glossy, enamel like finish in only 15 minutes, with a 'hammered' look effect. If a second coat is required, it should be applied 4 hours after the first coat.
Coverage is 5 square metres per litre.
