Jesmonite AC100 Kit is a waterbased glass fibre system which results in a weather resistant casting or lamination suitable for interior or exterior use. It is harder and has a higher impact strength than the AC300.
If being used outside, the product should be coated with Clear Top Coat.
Safety Data:
Jesmonite Acrylic Composites are solvent free, so work can be carried out in many locations without the requirement of expensive fume extraction services. They are Class 0 Fire Certificated, and are classified as low hazard products with little or no toxicity. First time users should ask for safety data sheets. All operatives should be provided with:
-Eye protection- goggles or glasses
-Dust respirators
-Hand protection- rubber gloves.
Guidelines for Use:
- Product is supplied as two components which are mixed in a ratio of 1 : 2.5 Liquid : Powder (parts by weight), although for working on polystyrene, sometime a mixture with a ratio of 1:3 is preferred.
- The combination should be mixed by a high shear mixing blade in an electric drill at around 1000 rpm for about 45 seconds.
- The resulting mix can be poured into a mould or it can be used to form a strong laminate.
- For vertical surfaces to add a little stiffness, a little thixotrope can help, or a little bit of retarder.
- The Products are supplied with full instructions.
Coverage:
To estimate coverage, a 5 mm thick laminated panel in Jesmonite will weigh about 8.725 kg per m2 when wet and 8.25 kg per m2 when dry. Therefore a 70 kg kit will cover about 8 m2.
